Basic statistics in one day
Dear Monterotondo colleagues,
In this course, we will give an introduction to statistics in one day, we will try to
cover the most important statistical concept such as estimation and estimation error,
SD vs SEM, statistical testing and correlation / linear models .
During the course I will try to convey the very basics of statistical
inference, covering sample estimates and veriability (standard error),
confidence intervals and correlation.
Most of the material is based on openintro statistics:
which I highly recommend to read!
We will use graphical software and no programming, the course will be mostly
"hands-on" and you will be analysing data sets on your own.
So if you want to bring your own laptop, please install JASP:
as well as JMP, for which Monterotondo has a campus licence (ask Andreas)
For more information contact Bernd Klaus (bernd.klaus@embl.de).
Best wishes,
Bernd
