Prerequisites

This is an introduction to R designed for participants with no programming experience.

Content

In this course you will learn how to read and manipulate data using basic R and tidyverse packages followed by data visualization with ggplot2.

  • Basic information about syntax for the R programming language
  • The RStudio interface
  • Importing CSV files
  • Structure of data frame objects, categorical variables (i.e. factors), basic data manipulation (adding/removing rows and columns)
  • Calculating summary statistics
  • Introduction to plotting
