In this tutorial, we’ll go over how to make pretty presentation/publication-ready figures in Blender of 3D microscopy data using my add-on Microscopy Nodes.
You are welcome to bring your own data to play with.

We will have specific parts on FIB-SEM data and live fluorescent microscopy.

The workshop will take place from 14:15 to 17:30 on Jan 30, in room 202 (after CBB unit seminar).

It is open to any interested party from EMBL.

To join the workshop:

  • please sign up here, please also sign up if you already added your name to the interest form in december, to know that we can indeed expect you
  • Bring a laptop or virtual machine with 16GB RAM or more and Blender 4.2 or 4.3 installed
  • If you want to use your own data: best is to have this in OME-Zarr, otherwise, please have a .tif that is smaller than 1 GB per timeframe, if it is bigger, please crop the data

If you want to know more about this or see examples of the images, please see the preprint https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2025.01.09.632153v1

For any clarification you are welcome to reach over email.
