Introduction to qualitative logical modelling with BoolNet
Models can aid our understanding of the complex and interconnected pathways that integrate (cellular) signals to compute the appropriate response.
Course content
You will learn how to model the logic of (cellular) signal integration. Models based on Boolean networks provide the advantage that natural-language statements can easily be transferred into this representation. Existing knowledge about the components of a system and their interactions can be directly used to simulate the systems behaviour, without the need of calibration of the model to data. Qualitative observations, like phenotypic properties, can easily be integrated into the model. You will learn the theoretical and hands on basics required to build, simulate and analyse models based on Boolean logic.
