This course teaches the basics of the version control system git. Using version control software makes it easier to work on collaborative projects and keep track of changes to documents and programs. On this course, you will learn how to set up and use git to log changes to files and folders and easily share and incorporate files and results with/from other people in your group/project.
In particular, you will learn how to:
- Create repositories
- Make “clones”
- Add / edit / delete files
- Add and commit their work
- Work with remote repositories
- Look at history with diff and log
- Push their work back to a remote
- Pull updates from a remote

Prerequisites: Ideally, users have already attended the Intermediate Linux Commandline and Basic Scripting course or have equivalent experience and are familiar with the linux commandline.
