We’re pleased to announce a new training series beginning in May: Image Processing with Python. This series is a collaboration between members of the Bio-IT community and the Advanced Light Microscopy Facility (ALMF), bringing their training material and experience together into a single course.

Image Processing with Python
Wednesdays, 14:00-17:00, beginning 2/5/18
Room 13-518
https://bio-it.embl.de/events/image-analysis-with-python-2018-05-02/

The sessions will run weekly, with different instructors and topics, and are open to everyone at EMBL. We’ll start with the basics of image processing and scientific Python programming, before moving onto image analysis approaches and downstream data analysis and visualisation. Further session, covering more advanced topics, may be added in due course.

Sessions will take place weekly on Wednesday afternoons in room 13-518, starting 2nd May 2018. To register for a space, please add your name to this document, below the session(s) that you wish to attend:

Please note that familiarity with the basics of Python programming is required for attendance. The introductory scientific Python session assumes a knowledge of Python syntax and concepts such as function definitions, objects, methods, loops, conditionals, and so on. To learn these things before the series begins, we recommend that you attend another of our Bio-IT courses: Introduction to Python Programming.
